At least the maneuvers that you are being evaluated on are the type of flying that you may be responsible for as a GA ASI and the same profile that you will fly when you return for you proficiency flying IIRC.

My part of the flight program recently used KAFW Flight Program for our pre-employment evaluation too and it has NOTHING to do with the type of flying that we do or that is important to us; it was just done due to available people and assets.

I wonder how much longer KAFW Flight Program is even going to be around. Two of the guys that use to fly there were with us for awhile and they were both of the opinion that the end is in sight for the program.
We can only hope. It's a train wreck now. Too much to get into here.

I applied in the window on USA jobs that closed in early May. I called the HR number a few weeks later to ask a few questions since I’ve never applied before and didn’t know how it works. I told them I applied via OTS too. I was informed my USA jobs app would be referred by the following day, and once it is OTS is abandoned. He said once you’re referred you’ll follow the same process, it can just be more difficult to get your resume on CMO desks is you apply on USA jobs. Long winded reply...

So, yes I applied and was referred via USA jobs. I’m hoping it leads to an interview with the two cmo’s I’ve been referred to. My app was moved to referred 30 days ago or so.

Are You in the process as well?

thanks for your reply. Yes I’ve applied as well but I applied through OTS from the get go. Been waiting to hear back from a couple of FSDOs however I did complete the 10 question telephone interview with the national representative. Appreciate your follow up. I’m hopeful, but I was told since my application they have gotten bombarded with applications in the current state of affairs.

You’re further along than me it sounds like. No calls here. I’m after air carrier ops. I didn’t apply for GA I let my cfi expire by mistake last year.... bad timing. Good luck! If you don’t mind please reply with your progress, I will as well.

Will do and good luck to you as well. My location preference only had GA available, but I’m excited to head that direction if I’m lucky enough to get the call.

For reference, I applied Through OTS back in March and got the call to schedule the interview at the end of May. They gave me several phone interview schedule options. Interviewed and waiting to hear. Hopefully I get some positive communication soon enough.

Looking for some pay clarification. I was extended a Tentative offer letter (YAY!) and there was a pay line with base pay, adjusted pay, a locality percentage , and a COLA percentage. It looks like locality brings base up to the adjusted, but where does COLA fit in? Is it on top of adjusted or is it baked into the base pay?

Locality Pay (Added to Base Pay) and the “presidential increase“ is essentially baked in.
It’s public information. You can look up the GS Pay Scales on OPM.GOV.

Thanks for the response. So in other words the COLA is the presidential increase and is already computed in the base. Then locality added in to bring it up.

The tables published have everything already added in. Hawaii and maybe somewhere else have a COLA in addition to base plus locality.

I got it. Sorry, the numbers on the Tentative Offer Letter were different from the letter so I had to work backwards to figure out which GS grade and step I was. That’s where my confusion was. For anyone polling, I was hired at GS-11 step 5 for reference to anyone in the hiring pipeline.
