Have not posted in a looooooong time. The opposition to the age 67 rule is no surprise. I bailed out of 121 at 57 had enough of poor schedules being over worked etc. Some of the misery was commuting but that's on me. After one gig at a major that went bust thanks to Frank Lorenzo i was flying regionals so that was some of the problem with schedules. Notice I did not complain about pay although that was not great. Enjoyed the flying and crews just not everything else. Went to fly a corporate aircraft twin turboprop and at 74 am still flying. Health has been good could still hold a 1st class no restrictions and am on zero meds. Guess i'm kind of a freak. Probably my last year insurance companies getting nervous we have been using a second pilot for over a year, love that. My schedule is very relaxed no weekends no overnights, and no hoildays flying about two days a week. Even if age 67 passed my guess is that very very few would opt for it with the schedule you guys have. Best of luck to you all have a safe career and keep the shiny side up..

Apparently the age 67 bill was reintroduced.
Please write your members of Congress to tell them to oppose. You know the old guys are all-in on getting this passed. Would be a shame if the noisy minority carried the day.
If this was perceived by mgmt as likely to pass, it could well erode leverage for UALPA, APA, SWAPA. Old guys sticking around longer means they don't have to push to recruit and hire as many pilots in the short term, so they don't need to be in a hurry to match Delta.
