Status Quo? In regards to race and women, the “status quo” in the 1960s–70s was exclusionary, cockpits were almost entirely white and male with ALPA pilots doing little to challenge barriers. While in the 1980s–90s, progress came slowly with token female and minority representation, most gains driven by lawsuits and outside advocacy rather than ALPA (pilots) itself. That is ALPA’s (pilots) “status quo,” a proud history of sitting it out because of groupthink!

I’m under no illusion that these squeaky wheels won’t eventually get their way on their money grab. But every time one retires before that happens, with no avenue to get back into 121 operations, it really makes me happy.

It doesn’t really make a difference. Every time one retires, other joins the crowd. Today’s 55 year old finally gaining high seniority is just tomorrow’s 64 year old not wanting to give it up.

Looks to me there’s a lot of whining coming from both sides of this argument. Why don’t everyone just admit from both besides this about greed and money. I know this FO at major who own 2 airplanes and is always bragging about it. Then his wife turns around and tells me one day they cannot afford a house because he hasn’t been able to upgrade yet. Choices people?

OK, this is a significant development.
Trump has selected Jeffrey Anderson, a recently retired DL pilot and age 67 advocate, to be the ICAO ambassador. Guess we know where the administration stands on the issue.

then add in the LEPF group has been making friends with some of pretty anti labor politicians in DC, who have their sights set on weakening unions, who also happen to be friends with POTUS. I think anyone who didn’t see how this administration would side weren’t paying attention.

That’s the main thing. I haven’t laughed that hard in ages.

we have know this the whole time. Troy Nehls is a staunch supporter of the current administration. The one with the brother who is a double digit seniority number at DL. Easy political favor.
