So the business friendly politicians are going to *force* two more years of unwanted productivity down the throats of big business?
I'm confused, which is it

US Airlines no, Foreign carriers yes. As so many have pointed out here, the Pilot Shortage is over HERE in the US, not so much everywhere else. IATA now pushing for it, along with the US at ICAO…. It’s all but inevitable at this point. The longer ALPA remains obstructionist the less influence they will have over language & interpretation. When you are not at the table, you’re on the menu.

There are 36 countries on the Executive board. That's 31-5 against raising the age. There are over 100 countries that have an age that isn't over 65. ICAO might change the age in 3 or 4 years, but probably not. The 9 that allow flying over 65 aren't going to twist the arms of over 100 countries. Its not going to happen.

I do like the idea of those being eligible must be 23 or younger when enacted. No body harmed and those are the ones that might need those two years with all the tech coming our way. No pilot shortage now or ever at the majors. Defending the idea of staffing shortages at low paying flying jobs like the regionals, 135 ranks, or the bottom feed ACMI isn’t very honest.
