Government run health care is a mess. Only 32 of the top 33 countries have figured it out.

If you mean providing a lower standard of care for all vs a higher standard of care for the insured, I'd agree with you. There is a reason why people still get private insurance under socialized medicine. It's so that they can access services that would otherwise be unavailable/severely delayed within the government-run program.

This^^^ I was flying as a young guy in the military at the time 30 years ago. The concept that what happened to someone (that is still flying) during that time hasn't been able to made whole by now from industry-wide events is absurd.

Fair to say no system is perfect, but the US is going about it all wrong and data proves it.

The alternative is properly regulated private sector. To the absolute minimal degree necessary. Hard to do with many in congress bought and paid for.

I've seen government from the inside. Yes, it's bad.

Yes it's a mess.

The successful ones also tend to VERY homogeneous cultures. Collective enterprises work better when everybody has shared values, work ethic, and expectations. We do not in the US.

may be true, but it’s also an excuse. We just can’t week ourself off the concept of medical care is a privilege (preventative care) and yet a very basic right only for the destitute (emergency care).

We can mobilize a military under the same landscape with a shared common goal. Medical needs are a shared common goal.

Bought and paid for by the private sector that would never do wrong or abuse it's power? It takes two to make a bribe. You can't point a finger at government without also acknowledging the faults in private sector buying up politicians in the first place.
