While I was a little surprised to see the reduction in service, I have to say this is what I love about our Network guys. They think like a cold day trader when it comes to making money. If a route may underperform in a given time period, they pull the plug or reduce frequency to go somewhere else to make money. If you don't think that's not how the game should be played, we may very well be the only legacy to make a profit this quarter. That should speak volumes for how we are positioned.
Without trying to sound like I'm drinking too much KoolAid, I agree. Having met our network/revenue folks, I can say without qualification that they are the first set I've ever had any faith in. They seem pretty sharp. I hope we can keep them or some of their level for years to come.

You don't evaluate whether an AC is making money doing what it's doing, but rather whether it could make more money doing something else.

Guys, we start 777 service to Kuwait in Nov., the aircraft had to come from somewhere. Less frequency to several markets (PVG,ICN,???) frees up a/c for the new service.

Walking around the training department for the last month and talking to some folks there the number that was being tossed around was 150 or so by the end of the year.

Realize this is all speculation!!!!

But this kind of speculation is fun! I'm an optimist anyway.

150-200 by the end of the year. A total of 430-460 for the 09 deliveries of the 777.

Which CP did people get this from?

(not that I'm doubting, just curious) more people is good.

Didn't the head guy in Pilot Resources have a podcast to this effect a couple of weeks ago? I'd say he's even more reliable than a CP regarding such issues.
