Depending on when you interviewed, you might try the sidestroke for a bit too. I interviewed on 10 SEP, with type, and was told "about" 8 classes. Based on about 20 to 24 per. I don't know if that helps at all, still many variables.

One thing I have heard thru the PD and others, is just to be READY. Congrats, and good luck to all of you.

Don't bet more than even money on what they told you. This time last year, the PD was telling me I 'might' make a class by the end of 2008. I ended up staring in May with the call for the class 15 days out.

Default Just keep swimming

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, what do we do we swim, swim, swim. . . . .

Sorry, couldn't resist. Try floating from time to time too, helps the time pass.

What we need is a swim up bar in here, maybe a swim up black jack table too? Just an idea, maybe we could do it as a self help project. I'm sure there are enough of us in here that have done a few of those.

Has anyone been calling the PD on a regular basis? Just wonder if there is any reason to check in or just relax and wait for a call.

I called them to find out how many classes deep in the pool I was, and that's been it. You should be getting emails from them every few months with updates...

As a poolie for about a year, I was impressed with how well they kept us apprised of the situation. Got Thanksgiving/Christmas/Birthday cards, and a monthly status letter on where things were going (keeping in mind that the letter was out of date by the time I received it--things move quickly at this company!) Case in point: started hearing rumors of things picking up mid-winter, called the PD for an update in Mar, and was told to expect late summer/early fall. Got a call in June asking if I could be there in 10 days to fill a last minute slot...the answer, of course was YES!! Keep the faith, the wait is worth it. Fantastic comany to work for!

Oh, and forgive me if I'm repeating someone else, I haven't waded thru all 10 pages on the thread...

Chief in HOU said we would not be hiring till we were through with RNP training. So looks like no classes for sure up through march.

Send back those Christmas, birthday cards ect. Tell em to save that money for expanding SWA and for the contract!

I think they may have already taken your advice because I have been receiving haloween, thanksgiving EMAILS. Not sure how that will effect the contract negotiations though
