What is NW "call-in honest" policy and what makes it better?

Delta will adopt the NW policy which provides
mainline employees with higher boarding
priority than Delta Connection Carrier
employees on all mainline flights.

Same policy in place at DL and NW for
mainline employee travel on wholly owned
subsidiary carrier flights (including Comair,
Compass and Mesaba). All other connection
carrier employees will board after mainline,
Comair, Compass and Mesaba employees for
travel on Comair, Compass and Mesaba
flights.

Delta will adopt the NW policy which provides
mainline employees with an equal boarding
priority as employees of the operating carrier –
except for ASA and SkyWest flights where the
current DL policy will continue to be in place.

For example:
1. On a Chautauqua flight, mainline employees
will board at the same priority as Chautauqua
employees. All other connection carrier
employees will board after Chautauqua and
mainline employees.

2. On an ASA flight, mainline and other
connection carrier employees board after ASA
employees.

Looks like ASA and SKW were able to hold their ground.

Try one flight then call scheduling and they would PSY you to work.

I'm glad I get to use Travelnet to finally fly to Rhinelander, Wisconsin in June. Makes it a whole lot happier for the wife and kids on the yearly trek to Northern Wisconsin.

I'll be happy to get rid of the paper ticket thing when I commute on NWA. It's kicking the collective butts of my home station ticket agents

I agree, but it is not what we adopted. We will see if it is revisited once we all start commuting.
Better not put any EV or SW flight between ATL and any of the other hubs. I am sure they need to keep em out of DFW too!

The commuting pilot will have an original and one back-up flight to the crew base, both of which are SCHEDULED to arrive prior to check-in time for the particular trip pattern.

The pilot will have listed for either the cockpit jumpseat or a cabin seat for the original flight.

If the pilot is not boarded on the original flight then he/she notifies crew scheduling.

The pilot will provide the crew scheduler with the flight number of the original and back up flight. The scheduler will verify that the pilot was listed for the original flight, and that both flights would have arrived prior to check-in. If all data is verified, the scheduler will produce a PNR and issue the pilot a Y1 (positive space) seat for the back-up flight. This Y1 is issued regardless of the reserve coverage and is designed to ensure the pilot has a confirmed seat for the next flight. The pilot will not be charged a service fee for this Y1 seat.

The pilot processeds to the gate podium and provides the PNR Locator Number to the agent, who will issue a boarding pass for that flight.

We should just get rid of EV and SW and go with wholly owned regionals. That way we can do what we want when we want. I'm sure Delta would be saving more money right now if they could have parked more 50 seaters but SKYW has a contract that has to be honored.
