Why did you make outrageous demands to SWA, knowing that your alternative was an alliance with Republic who would drag down your QOL and pay?
$3000/mo plus health insurance to furloughed guys,.. come on
Denver seat protection for 2 years?
Free type rating and "equitable integration"? (you are bankrupt, right)
ETC
FAPA was 'not too smart'. You had a gift and gave it up.
Have fun playing with Republic who are taking over Midwest routes and putting those pilots on the street. Some of you may have to move to MKE. So much for the DEN fence. What was your union thinking? You have the promise of a seperate airline, for now. That won't last very long. You'll get what your Union has decided that was best for them!
(This is not a personal attack on the rank and file crew members. Just an opinion on the short-sighted view of their union and their skewed representation of the facts to their membership.)

To many, SWA's deal was horrible. To many, SWA's deal was great.
To many, RAH's deal was horrible. To many, RAH's deal was great.
I am not sure how fapa came up with their decision. I just hope they get what they wanted, and they are happy with the outcome.
The integration is going to be nasty, and I hope the furloughed pilots involved with the 3 merging companies find their way back into a seat real soon, making more money then when they left.

Gee, Spanky, I don't work at either Frontier or SWA - and I think even I'm bright enough to figure this out -
Staple Frontier to the bottom.
All SWA guys move up. (wheeeee)
All Frontier guys are now FOs (woooooo)
Kiss all seniority goodbye.
Kowtow to the almighty SWA gods

I said it before and I'll say it again... I'd rather be on the bottom of Southwest's list instead of anywhere on the Republic list. Good luck to all the Frontier guys I sincerely hope you don't end up with Midwest's fate. The whole debacle is a sham.

Who is to say that you didn't get "skewed representation of the facts" from SWAPA?
I'm not sure why, but anecdotal evidence from the interwebs shows the egos of many SWA pilots was damaged because FAPA and the pilots they represent weren't willing to accept the staple (and all its pros/cons..and yes, there were cons) that was offered to them.
They made their decision. Its over now. Let it go.
If things really get as bad as some here are prophesying, then you'll have a year or two of really stiff competition in DEN and SWA will be able to pick up the pieces on the cheap once F9/RAH becomes insolvent.

Amen.....Who cares what the reasons were. Regardless of their reasoning, it's water under the bridge. There's nothing they/or 'you' can do to convince "the powers to be" in the changing of results that SWA's bid was not accepted by the Judge. Best of luck to the F9'ers as they move forward.

And your other fate was? Either way I think you would have been on the street. I am just saying this, not to start anything, but the fact is that you would be on the street either way. At least you have a chance to come back with some of your senority in tact. Don't have a dog in the fight, but just hate this junior high bashing going on. Seems that the YX guys now have someone to blame for their demise instead of looking at the management that brought them here in the first place. With 20 years, you should put on your big boy pants and act like a professional with 20 years and not crying!

I betting that FAPA recognized that since WN would discuss no integration except a staple, most if not all of them would be on the street shortly after the acquisition. That $3000 number probably would have changed or been eliminated if some form of blended integration scheme had been offered. It was a negotiation, after all.
If WN had no intention of furloughing some of the F9 pilots, then this $3000 shouldn't have mattered. (I understand that there are at least 56 current Frontier furloughees, but I'm not sure if this agreement would have included them.)
How loud would the junior F9 FOs be screaming now if their MEC had "negotiated" their quick exit to the street. Being on the WN seniority list, but furloughed, may be a comfort to some pilots. It was probably unacceptable to a lot of others.
But that's just my guess. Its hard to criticize the actions of the F9 pilot group without having all of the facts.
