Delta New Hires/Class Dates/Cleared to Train
#201
However, almost everybody "lecturing us" including the FAA inspector assigned to DAL, indicated that "unofficially" DAL is going to hire a bunch. Of course, unless a Hurricane, Virus, Terrorist, etc., etc., etc. happens!
I did witness a bunch of sharp, crisp and motivated gentlemen interviewing while I was there.
Good luck to all of us!

I haven't heard that. In fact, I heard that we may actually have to have a very small pool develop, as more people than expected returned from furlough bypass, and fewer than expected of those bypass returns went on long term MLOA.

The September category list was revised on Aug 2. The NBC/FUR category (furlough bypass) has been revised from 330 people down to 266 - presumably accounting for those in the first 2 furlough bypass classes, and perhaps anyone attending with the new hires on the 16th. If my math is right, that means that, so far, 64 accepted recall. Don't know if there's a place to find out what assignments they took, though.

I think that is a shady number. I think they are at a hard 305 for 2010 and some poolies to start off 2011 if we start the hiring machine up. The FBR + off the street adds up to 305.

I am not sure the economy is out of the woods yet, so conservative hiring is understandable. I much prefer to run lean than to hire a bunch of guys only to have to furlough them when we miscalculated.
That said, there are a lot of things going on that if implemented would equate to a lot of new hires.
