Ergo, ALPA has tried and is continuing to try to get all pilots engaged in the trade of piloting in to ALPA.
Interesting that ALPA's newest talking point involves a concept that no longer exists anywhere. There is no single union that controls any trade anymore. Why do you think that is? It's because there's no barrier to entry for a new group to join a trade and be non-union. Our profession is no different.

This latest trade union talk is a silly attempt by ALPA to show relevance. They are failing at representing pilots, so now they say it would be so much better if they could just control the entire profession. That's what you do when you're failing. You claim the need for something that no longer exists and has almost no chance of ever returning. It changes the focus from failure.

The DPA's efforts are simply to have the Delta pilot's represented by union with only Delta pilots interests at heart. That won't fracture the profession, it will just better represent Delta pilots.

Pure BS and ALPA sponsored venom. Shameful.

Carl has discovered the Holy Grail!

ALPA should stop doing LM-2 reports and complying with rules governing unions because ALPA is an association! The Teamsters? In Carl World, they aren't a union...they're a brotherhood.

What's the "A" in DPA stand for?

DPA-Detroit Pilots Association

Heard in Detroit lounge last week.
How many cards does DPA have in now?
Answer: I am not sure, Things are so screwed up they have not been able to even get anything done. I don't know if they could reach a agreement on how to count the cards.

Disclaimer. Don't know the two pilots above or their relationship to DPA but it did make me laugh.

My ire is focused on ALPA national. Not Delta pilots working on my behalf. If you actually paid attention to people's posts, you would know that.

If you are going to be "critical", maybe you should start with the stooges at Seham.
Here's one of the many things you don't get because you're so blinded by love for ALPA national: Seham has done all these things in repsonse to what their CLIENTS wanted. When Seham gets this done, they win. Whether it ends up being good for the client is not the legal firm's concern. The only thing that matters is winning when you're a legal firm. Seham wins an awful lot...ALPA almost always loses.

Think "critically", and it'll come to you...
If you're Seham, it doesn't matter why they wanted to do that. It only matters what the client wants. Seham won for their clients.

So far, Seham is doing exactly what their client USAPA wants them to do. That's all that matters.

ALPA was also behind the greatest givebacks and collapses in history. Delta and Midwest just to name a few.

Never said that. Only that I want to belong to a union where ALL of my dues money goes to support what's best for Delta pilots. Your love for ALPA is so strong, you find ways to defend using our dues money to support the unionizing efforts of regional airlines who gladly take our flying. You are truly blind sir.

Heard in that same lounge that we're so screwed up at ALPA, we best just take whatever the company offers and pray that they're kind to us.

Don't know these two pilots' relationship to ALPA, but it did make me laugh.

Carl, you and I are floating in the same boat, and for some reason you believe that shooting holes in my end of the boat won't effect your ability to keep floating.
