Good summation, Denny!

The blowback of 90 seater outsourcing at the lowest bidder not only hammers DCI pilot groups, but their plight becomes our lost leverage. The two are very much related. We put them in an endless death spiral of cost pressures and that has already come back to haunt us. Money losing 50 seaters are one thing, but mainline CASM turnkey profit DC-9 replacement jets represents a lot more lost current and future leverage long after the "raises" we got are buried by inflation and we are in the next round of negotiations with an even larger baseline of cut throat narrowbody lift that we allowed.

Most pilots who sell scope don't care. It's pretty easy not to care when you're a 767 CA and it doesn't affect you. Would you care if they offered up the 747 or 777? I bet your position would be completely different when it comes to scope.

The comment wasn't whether one cares or doesn't, because it's obvious. Those that vote "yes" don't care. Mostly for the reason that it doesn't affect them. It's about the statement that only Delta pilots have to live under this contract. That's very naive to say the least and shows a complete lack of knowledge of what's happening at the regionals and the industry for that matter.

You say the question is, "is it good for the Delta Pilot group or not?" How is it good for the Delta pilot group to give up 70 (I think that's the #) more 76 seaters? The company has agreed to payrates for that sized on more than one occasion? How is it good to give more large airplanes away? I've seen the payrates and up until year 11 the left seat pays more than the right seat of the md88/90, 717 and dc9. The right seat at the end of your contract will have similar payscales to what the md88/90 and dc9 did just a few years ago. Is that good for the Delta pilot group to give such flying away?

I don;t think we should allow any more at DCI.. but I wouldn't spend a nickle to get 'em on the property here.

That's some fuzzy thinking and quit inaccurate information.

The payrates aren't worth it to the mainline pilots. Really..... Did you know that at the end of this TA your 76 "RIGHT" seat pay is very similar to what the md88/90 and dc9 paid just a couple years ago? That is definitely some selfish or ignorant thinking tsquare. I'm curious, did you feel the same way a couple years ago when the last contract was signed?

It's interesting how the economics of these 76 seat jets are SO MUCH better than the 50 seater. I mean, add 26 seats and all of a sudden we have a goldmine. Kind of like saying the A319 is so much less profitable than the A320. Then, they are even more of a goldmine if we agree to let them be flown at 6 different B-scale airlines that compete against each other with wages and cuts on safety programs and culture. If we only had a contract that had payscales for these airplanes we want to outsource. Oh wait.

I just wonder how long it will be until all of a sudden these new 76 seaters are no longer economical. Until then we will have thousands of RJ pilots struggling to make ends meet, and our scope will continue to resemble something like.....

Is this attitude what happens when a SJS kid grows up?

Good lord, I would hope not: $50/hour is third year Saab CA pay on our contract.
