I wonder if this is because Delta pilots went through Delta interviews?

When you see the caliber of people who are called (used to be called) to interview at Delta and they only hire 2 out of 15 it makes you wonder if having an ex NWA pilot on the hiring board provides the same kind of selection.

Delta connection is an outsourcing of the brand, nothing else needs to be said.

Wow....very classy just throwing all scumbag DCI pilots in the gutter. Please don't claim to know anything about the caliber of people flying your outsourced brand around. Is this the attitude to expect if we ever get to sit in a cockpit with you?

That attitude reminds me of the caste system in India. Once you are "born" into part 121 as a regional pilot, some mainline pilots seem to view regional pilots as underlings unable to hack it at X mainline.

Maybe for 'old school' mainline pilots who have come up through the military, it is hard seeing someone with no combat time under their belt be-bop through the terminal with all the trappings of SJS...But for the younger generation, we are looking for our chance at a decent career as well---- Just having paid our dues in different ways; check hauling, flight instructing, aerial surveying, and yes, for some, the big dollar aviation universities.

Interesting how the "us versus them" mentality permeates human culture.

Perfect example of why I have ZERO desire to ever don the U-boat commander uniform.

I know many great DAL guys......but I know many more that are complete toolbags.

Of course, YMMV.....

Yes, claiming to somewhat know... 10 years at the regional, as a matter of fact our outsourced brand. Been there, got a t-shirt
No attitude, just trying to explain how people feel about no interviews.

No, not true. There is no "us or them". Pull your weight and everyone will respect you just the same - combat or no combat. Don't let this attitude stop you from working on yourself. Good luck!

So you call me a toolbag? Because I tell it how it is?
Pass the interview and get hired like everyone else.. What is so hard to understand and so discriminative about that?

I am just saying that people can't believe we get pilots in without Delta selection. Someone asked and I answered, is that ok with you?
We have very few jerks because of phsyco eval. And yes, once a person is hired it is impossible to fire him for being a jerk.

I apologize if I offended anyone.
I have been around 4 airlines and I think that strict selection is a key to having a great career because you are working with good people.

PS. I don't know what YMMV means. I am sure something very nice?

Your mileage may vary. Surprised they let a Pilot make it through the Delta interview not knowing that! It's to bad we have some DAL pilots that feel that not holding up their end of the bargain is a good way to show fine moral standards. Those 400 guys that were promised something after they did the NWA interview should be taken care of as was the deal. Lets not be those guys.

Also you and me both know there are ways to fire people after they are on property (not to mention the probation period). If they can't hack it they will be dealt with accordingly.
