I hope so too G. If you were good enough for the pool, there is a reason NWA put ya there. My Northern Brothers are righteous cats. Stay close to Boomer, and good luck! H

"When hiring begins, it will be for a long time. You want to be on the front of that wave."
I know it's all speculation, but how long is the front of that wave going to be? Six months? Five years? I personally don't think hiring will kick in for another 2-3 years but when it does...where's the front of that wave?

Allegiant - our VP of flight ops said hiring is imminent. With A319s coming and MD 80s and 757s staying, it's all growth.
We currently have about 6 pilots per airplane (yes that's PILOTS not crews) crazy huh? At that rate the Airbus alone will mean 115~ over the next 3 years.
I'd have to imagine that 6PPA will have to go up a little. It's pretty painfully understaffed. Company relies on "mission mode" which is essentially open time volunteers instead of reserves to pick up the slack.

I love how the delta guys always freak out when they find this out. What do you mean no interview? They just get hired? Somehow these pilots aren't worthy of flying these customers at delta but its all good at delta connection.
There are plenty of pilots at the regional level that should not have made it there, but the lack of warm bodies forced the hiring at regional carriers to relax on their own standards. The majors have not had this problem, because they have very limited jobs and a large applicant pool. So, they can pick and choose who they want from that large pool.

Yes, but the flowthrough door should swing both ways only when the movement allows for both ways! With the Compass deal the way it is right now, even after all eligible Compass pilots flow up (the 400 or so), and even 10 years later with no flow up, Delta can always (indefinitely) flow back into Compass and knock their pilots out. At places like Eagle and XJT, when mainline flowed back, at least there was a flow UP provision that helped your group at the time when mainline was hiring. But for the Compass guys that can't flow, Compass will always be a flowback-only carrier. 20 years from now, Delta can still flowback into Compass. That's a pretty hefty price to pay for the "priviledge" of 400 pilots flowing to Delta now, and even those guys were hired 2007-2010.
