Recruiting in the pilot lounge? If they're handing out material that's a big NO NO. If you see that, I believe it needs to be reported to the company. From what I've been told, neither union is allowed to advocate for themselves on company property.
I believe it's ok if they're just talking to you.

No they were aggressively recruiting. I'll have to check my schedule but I'd say 3 of the 4 weekends I've worked in the last 6 weeks they've been at JFK with paraphernalia. They were physically outside the lounge last time I saw them but they right come up like a panhandler. The reporting thing sounds a little harsh? The chief pilot should be able to just look at the tape and figure it out if it's that critical.
Agree?

I've seen them in and out nearly always after hours. There's also a guy in ATL who tried to press a DPA card into my hand when I walked through like a guy tipping the Maitre D after he gets a good table for his dame.

All I'm saying is AFAIK neither union is allowed to advocate for themselves on company property. We need to keep a level playing field. And regardless of which orginization we support, we should be able to rest, socialize, sleep, whatever in our lounge without being bothered. Outside the lounge is ok.

Which CP's? If it were actually as the rumors you're spreading, the CPO would have put out a memo. They haven't that I've seen.
Nothing prohibits a pilot from talking to another pilot about a topic of interest. I've never seen anything other than respectful behavior from DPA guys talking about it to other pilots.

Published guidance to the Flight Attendants on the AFA drive ...
It would not surprise me if ALPA's guidance tended on the conservative side to avoid unnecessary issues. By it's nature the DPA would be more difficult to hold accountable.
There is probably more specific guidance in the HRPM.

And where did I imply unprofessional behavior?
