Who's been hired? [New Employer Can ID You!]

Nobody made you do that. You could have gone military too. Don't blame those that took another path or the company that hires them. To each his own. No need for yet another civ vs mil thread.

While you may think you can pop enough chaff in an interview so they don't notice that attitude, that's an automatic thumbs down if they get a sniff of that. Every airline, all day, every day. Maybe you're good enough to pull it off, but most aren't. Most interviews you'll be sitting across the table with well over half a century of experience looking specifically for that attitude.
I highly suggest that if you want to move on to a mainline…any mainline…or even most so called LCC's even, that you let go of that angst and focus on the optimistic sides of the opportunities ahead, for your sake. YMMV.

I do get the frustration though. The civilian pipeline is a tough road, and has been for quite some time because nobody has been hiring. That is all coming to an end though

Thats true. But getting to the interview for most regional pilots is extremely difficult. We are already doing the job with the paint on the side of the plane and carrying "majors" passengers. But then suddenly we arent good enough to actually fly the "majors" plane.
Ita a joke.

But pure numbers of flight time are not very good indicators of the quality of that flight time. You may have 10k hours in an RJ, but for the most part, what were you doing during that time? Probably spent a large amount of that time in the cruise portion of flight.
Other guys from different other backgrounds (including 135 cargo, military, etc) spend far more time doing other stuff as they log time...tactical flying, formation flying, operating out of austere airfields with limited or no support and so on.
1 hour in another operation doesn't necessarily equate to 1 hour of 121 time.
To go further, I hear this ALL the time from guys..."I have umpteen million hours of flight time but no one is calling me". Understand that at this point, they are still just interviewing what they (the majors) view as the most desirable candidates. Realize that with 10,000+ resumes stacked on their desks, they have to discriminate between everyone. Pilots who've flown the line and have thousands of hours are a dime a dozen. But there are others who have experience as check airmen, directors of operation, chiefs of safety and so on that separate them from the rest of the herd.
You need to find a way to stand out from the herd. Sitting around whining about why you have 10k hours flying jets with major airline logos on it isn't going to get you an interview. And unless you want to be a career RJ pilot, I'd find a way to get a more positive attitude, stat.
