Depends on your age, where in the country you live, and what you want to do for the next 20+ years.

Do yourself and your family a favor and do not commute. That should be a very heavily weighed factor when deciding which job to accept. Good luck with your second career.

I plan to live in the LA area, I would also like the option to fly long haul at some point in my career. It is because of these reasons I like what AA and UA have to offer. Also, I feel like AA has the most seniority movement. Of course they are all great Airlines however, that is assessment at the moment. Again, advice/ mentorship is welcome.

It's seems like most of the international growth at AA is coming out of LAX. If you're looking to stay domestic, you'll have opportunities there as well.
As the deadline for recallees comes to a close soon, more and more new hires will start filling in junior to you.

If you must be in LA then AA is a no brainer because commuting cannot be fun..
