We haven't had free markets here in about a hundred years, what you are seeing is the exact opposite of free markets.
Boeing and Emirates are not to blame, you might want to look at who is actually selling you, and it isn't Boeing or Emirates.
They have just entered a wide open market which consists mainly of your rights, they didn't start the market nor do they run it.
Someone is shocked the ME can buy a little influence? Where were you over the last two decades of US operations in the ME?
Who bought that and who sold it?

I think a quote in the article got taken out of context. Something where a Sheik said something like, "if we can't enter then you can have your planes back". I haven't read anything official that that is indeed language contained in the purchase agreement. I highly doubt Boeing would write that into the contract.
I agree that will not be written into the contract but I also believe the Sheik knew exactly what he was saying when he made that remark.

Typhoonpilot,
Point 1, where did the billions of dollars in "capital" to start the EXIM bank come from? Hint: US Taxpayers.
Point 2, just think how much MORE money the EXIM bank could make for the US taxpayer if they charged interest rates that US Airlines have to pay or let US Airlines use them to finance aircraft too.

So how about Delta, United, American, and USAirways purchasing of Airbus aircraft? Did they get any sweet financing deals from the Europeans? Are Airbus manufactured aircraft obtainable at a lower cost due to European government subsidies in the development of Airbus products?
I couldn't read the rest of your 8,000 words because you clearly have no control of yourself. You might have even had something good in there, but few will want to wade into such self-indulgence.

Misses the point entirely. The point is that Airbus didn't promise access to European markets for purchasing their aircraft.

There is no doubt our government has created a hostile environment for business. But that has nothing to do with why Boeing is the enemy of the US airline pilot.
The boys in Dubai aren't buying billions in wide bodies because their business climate is friendly...and it damn sure isn't because their populations justify it. They're buying them (mainly from Boeing) because Boeing has promised them access to our markets.

So Carl, Boeing and Emirates are controlling the world?
Real heavy duty Kaiser broiler foil hat stuff.
Emirates has lots of Boeings, they have had them for a long time, they operate primarily outside the US.
What does control the market is a better product and I can say flying Boeing and Emirates is better than any US airline for comfort and service.
Maybe Emirates can do us all a favor and set up shop here, unfortunately our business climate would destroy their product.
