Peachtree City taxes are very high, but even then it is still a good deal. I would look at one of the neighborhoods off Redwine Rd. You get access to cart paths, great schools, and you do not have to pay PTC taxes. The elementary schools would either be Peeples or Brealinn and they are two of he best in the state.

Jefferson Woods and Woodcreek will be the most affordable. Timber Lake and Highgrove are more expensive but both are very nice. If your wife is a doctor you can look in Whitewater.

Consider DTW.

It's super cheap, your kids will grow up street smart, and no one will laugh when you pimp your ride.

When I move to ATL it'll be to the north side--Marietta. It's 45 mins to employee parking, and in the 30 or so times I made the drive (stayed with family while on reserve) I never had any serious traffic problems by taking I-285. Incredible schools (Walton, Pope, etc). Plus, you get a chance to get away from the company a bit more than if you like in base housing.

There is always CHA. Yeah its a drive but think of all that money you save on state income taxes! Probably pushing 18,000 a year in state taxes for some of our guys down in GA.
All that said living within 30 minutes of the airport means one can "hoe demselves out mor!" or something like dat.

All hail the GS masters!

Funny, my wife is a tennis pro in N. ATL, should I worry?

I know this is an "old" thread, but of interest to me. I'm new to the forums and a DAL poolie. Hoping to get to ATL as soon as possible, but my wife would rather live in TN than GA. We're seriously considering Chattanooga (live near IAD now). Wife's sister lives 35 minutes NW of ATL, for my crash pad. Seems like living in CHA wouldn't be too heinous under the circumstances. Any other opinions on this? Thanks.

CHA is 1:35-1:50 (best case going 10 mph over the spd limit) from the employee lot. I used to live there. You can sit short call from home. There is also some regular flight service from CHA to ATL if you don't want drive...You wont save any time, just less of a headache. Pay attention to school zones for where you are looking at houses.

TN is a tax evaders paradise.
