As a side note I think it’s funny when an outsider pops in here and criticizes us for working here. Or worse acts as if we’re here bc we have to be. They have no concept of what it was like here preCovid. Small pilot group, lots of flying and very few people not picking up open time for 200/300%. I for one am glad I’m here and didn’t go to my “first” choice.

I don’t know this. They threatened WARN notices then said there will be furloughs but they won’t hit the WARN threshold. But let’s assume it’s true that they aren’t furloughing.
Why ask for reinstatement of the MOU and refuse to discuss any OTHER furlough mitigation strategies.
Seems odd? No. If we reinstated the MOU it’s free money for the company. They can’t afford the furloughs with what’s going on. The flying is too inefficient to support 76 hour lines. If we reinstate the MOU the company saves money. But it’s not mitigating furloughs because they are not happening anyway. You just have a concession FOR NOTHING.

Not addressing you but actually the person you responded to.

I always find it interesting when I see you on here pangolin. I feel like we can agree on a lot and grabbing a beer would make for some interesting conversation. You tend to be a glass half empty type of guy always airing on the side of caution and I tend to be a glass half full airing on the side of optimism. But we can agree on the glass is only half. Haha 🤣
(Insert thinking meme here)
I couldn’t find one to link easily into here.

So quit..some of us didn’t spend six figures and years of our lives to drive for door dash or work at Starbucks. I am in a financial position to just keep flying my jet for 50 or 60 hours and go on with life. Why don’t you take the leave..also in the MOU..keep the benefits and 20 hours pay..and do your door dash driving. Either way..you have your opinion..not everyone agrees with you.
The offense is, you simply don't want to, and would prefer others take a pay cut so you don't have to.
Being furloughed from $2,280 a month is not a near death experience, and completely replaceable in America.
Again, you'd prefer $2,280 flying a jet vs 1,000's of other ways to earn $2,280 and want your peers who have been at it longer than you to help fund it.
Here you go:

Your life altering loss of income can now be restored.

this ☝️. Everyone panicking bc the negotiations email. Not a big deal, we’re positioned as well as anyone and better than all but probably one that’s overstaffed so even that is up for debate. We just spiraled in to the same infighting going on in the other forums because of that email. The company and union are both posturing appropriately for October 1. The title of this thread illustrates just how emotionally driven all of this is. Just chill everyone, be glad you’re here.

Sucks that I was days from being safe before Covid furloughed me.

Spirit is going to buy Mesa, republic will go out of business, endeavor will be divested and shut down, gojet will have random investors and buy 50 ERJ175’s, commuteair will be wholly purchased by United, and SkyWest will buy all of Republic’s 175’s and start their own air carrier service.
100%
No doubt.
