Junior captains that’d be a pretty huge cut. Where are you getting this info? I’m glad the MEC unanimously voted down the mou. 60 hours a month would have not worked at all. That’s just peanuts to work for.

JO furloughed 350 after 9/11. Mesa was putting new hires in the ERJ instead of the 1900 during 2001.

The furlough happened after 9/11- during the call back the senior 1900 pilots bid the ERJ and the junior ERJ pilots went to the 1900.

so yes, JO furloughed and created double training events during the recall. I’d venture Mesa lost money for the furlough.

Depends on how deep it goes. I don't have numbers. But you can figure out what it might be to start by the WARN notice requirements that MESA thinks they won't hit. IF you can believe what the company tells the MEC.

The Jr Captains I know in DFW came in as returning employees or with prior 121 time from another airline. But I notice the Jr CA on the 737 has a very high Sr number and could get caught as well. (Initial Cadre Pilot)

It's clear the company doesn't WANT to spend the money to keep people not flying but they only have two plays in the play book and the MEC said no to one of them. A PSP extension would change the game. But only if it's GRANTS, and somehow I don't think that's in the cards.

Interesting thing in all this is that the company is still reporting profits. Furloughs could, due to the training events triggered, cause those profits to swing to losses. I believe Mesa is the only passenger airline in the world with a Q2 profit. I am sure JO is being extremely careful not to blow that.

Back to the WARN requirements. It’s 500 at any one work site. I don’t think we will hit that. So .... we will know mid Sept what’s actually happening.
