You should listen to what people are telling you in this thread. They have way more experience and long term thinking. You're not going to save jobs taking concessions. Let me say it again. You're not going to save jobs taking concessions. This is airline labor management 101.

Sept 1st: "We need concessions to save jobs, thx!"

Nov 1st: "Concessions didn't do enough, were gonna furlough anyways. thanks for your help!"

Jan 1st BK judge: "Looks like you boys make 60 hours a month, now it's 40"
This is a regional forum is it not? With all due respect..you sound clueless. Have you looked at unemployment numbers? You think you’re going to just find another job? Having pay even at a reduced rate to be furloughed in the end is still more than having zero pay today. Not everyone is in the same position here. We all work here..if you even do..for different reasons and have different goals. I sound like a regional FO? You sound like the fat cat at the top in no danger of furlough. Try thinking of others besides yourself maybe? Nah..you’re too bitter about being at Mesa for 20 plus years and weren’t good enough to move on. See! I can make up stories in my head too!

First of all, if you think of a 20 year Mesa guy as a “fat cat” you are delusional. Secondly, if someone has been here 20 years the odds are pretty good that they probably have some experience with furloughs, downgrades, base closures etc.

Lastly, as far as 20 guys not being “good enough” to move move on, that’s just disrespectful and demonstrates your complete lack of the history of this business. Instead of blowing them off, you should have listened to the old timers stories that you have flown with -they have been through this before. None of this is anything new.

I was being sarcastic on the fat cat. Get real. Lack of history of the business..think what you want..I’m laughing inside. MANY of the pilots that have been at this regional for that long are here for exactly that reason..

The MEC should represent all of its pilot group. Some of us have an opinion different than yours. Many of us. There should be a vote. Not just blindly making the decision for everyone..without asking everyone..what they want. It’s perfectly clear you think your opinion is the only one and everyone else is ignorant..not in the business long enough..blah blah blah. Maybe some of us are just able to see beyond ourselves. Enjoy your still crap 76 hours pay then..the furloughed ones collecting unemployment thank you.

I have spoken with my MEC rep. Have you? I offered my opinion and he agreed. There’s info there you can have too that I won’t share on an open forum. The company isn’t really coming to the table yet. NONE of us want to see ANY furloughs.

Not to beat this with a dead horse, APC CA 76 seat rates show that for “$x” a Mesa pilot has to work 4 hours while most industry peers works 3 hours. Relative to the industry standard it’s the same working more than one hour for free a day on low credit day!

As I stated in my earlier post (previous page) I have no problem with differing opinions. Speak to your rep and make your opinion known, don’t just scream at the sky on APC. At the end of the day seniority matters, particularly in times like these. In the mean time settle down, we’ll all have a better idea of what’s happening soon enough. Supposedly we are interviewing, offering CJO’s AND talking about possible furloughs? Honestly, something just doesn’t add up.

Agree with you on that! Some word from the company would be nice! Although it would just be more smoke and then an email a month later saying they are sending WARN notices. Whatever it is, I can’t see how it will make up for a loss of 60% of the flying not even considering probably losing American. Corona Coaster in full force.

To use your own point against you, the difference between the two min guarantee options doesn’t even crack a 7k paycut for the year. If you are so interested in working another job you should have plenty of free time at 60 hours a month to make 7k doing doordash while staying current.
Your hill to die on is literally less than 7k, that is peanuts and you signed up for it!
I am here because the bonus was 30k and there was no reserve. The reserve bit changed. I’m not going to quit because I don’t feel like paying the bonus back, even pro rated. The third year could potentially be a $20k bonus if I can’t upgrade. So, the overall pay would be about $60k year three.

The min guarantee cut of 16 hours would be a 21% cut. Yes, less than $7k, and still makes it an untenable job after a return from a furlough. While it’s “temporary” I don’t tend to believe that to be honest.

My original plan was a quick upgrade build pic time and jump to a lcc or major, whoever called first and plant there permanently. That’s obviously not happening now. So, I pivot to my best interests which would be a furlough over a reduction in pay. I don’t have to pay any bonus back, I can go get a different job or jobs, and come back when my number allows me to hold a line.

You’re the exact reason they can try to get away with this. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Get away with this? What alternate reality are you living in? Flying is down 60%. You think they’ll just keep paying everyone to not fly? It’s a regional..and beyond that..it’s Mesa. You didn’t make good financial decisions in your life so you are bitter at those who did? People that can ride out some months at less than already crappy pay? You should be ashamed of yourself. I sleep fine at night.
