Default Aviate opt in

A mesa opt-in has a class date.

You get an opt-in email at the end of IOE, correct? Still waiting to finish IOE myself.

So am I correct to assume having a UFJ in the past 5 years makes you ineligible to transition to UAL?

No. Thats a mesa twist on the rules. Further down its 4 absences in a rolling 12 months.

Can someone enlighten me on Aviate? Is it either Aviate OR off the street application to United? Are you able to opt-in to Aviate and also apply via the normal channels as soon as your hours are competitive? Aviate seems to have a bad reputation for not flowing people but can't you just hedge your chances to get to United by also applying the normal way?

If you are in Aviate you may not apply outside if Aviate.

I think all WO are doing this unfortunately. Why would they want to advance someone and lose a seniority number on the minor leagues. When its more advantageous to pull from other regional lift. This is my hesitation at aligning myself with any WO, especially one that I want to get hired on at their mainline equivalent.

If you want United, don’t go to an Aviate carrier. You will be much more attractive through the traditional hiring process if you come from a competitor and you will get there much faster than you could through Aviate. A few years ago Aviate would have been a great program. Today, not so much.
