Just received an email from Airline Apps about TSA "Left Seat Direct". Basically they're hiring street captains.

When you triple in size you have pretty good opportunity for upgrade though.

Basically new hire with new hire seniority, but flies both seats. Captain pay for left seat and blended rate for right seat (43/hr). Able to bid for full upgrade as seniority will allow. At TSA they will get full upgrade quick. Our contract requires all currently qualified FOs to be upgraded within 90 days of hiring CQFOs.

I was swallowed in the downward spiral of Pinnacle Airlines as it swirled into the depths of SD-NY Bankruptcy court and JFK/LaGarbage Dump--just now getting my career back on track, mostly because I ignored every single person who said to go to "better" regionals, or ride the FO seat waiting for JetBlue/Spirit, instead of chasing a fast upgrade at Mesa.

And be on reserve until they leave 6 to 12 months later for anything else because 11 days off on reserve indefinitely sucks!

Depending on personal circumstances, it actually may not.
Topped out S5 FO at 36.65 commuting to a base with no cancellation pay or...
Commuting to RSV CQFO at TSA with a base rate of 43 and CA pay and PIC time when PIC with cancellation pay?
I know of two S5 guys bailing for it now.

I think this is the stupidest post I've ever read. If regionals get too expensive as you put it the flying will have to go back to mainline. The massive regional shift happening right now is only hurting the regionals. No college student in his right mind would sign up for what is happening now.
Without regionals dealing with what really matters (pay) all the regionals will die in a matter of time simply because they will have no pilots to fly them. Without all of the regional pilots saying enough is enough it will never get better.
I personally have six friends that have all bailed in the last year and left the aviation industry all together. They were all between 4 & 7 year FO's, and not one regrets the decision.
