Ya know, when me and my Co-Commander (prior121) fly together we will share flying duties by having one commander use the yoke and the other will operate the throttles.

However, when I'm unfortunate enough to operate with an actual unqualified FO, here's my SOP... so consider yourself briefed:

-FaceBiter will ALWAYS be the PF unless the WX is forecast to be CAVU with winds <5kt (in any direction) >100nmi from the departure, destination, and all enroute flight.

-On takeoff I will assist you in maintaining centerline with my commanders wheel (tiller), because everyone knows stupid FO's are bad at this. Very shortly after takeoff I will let you know I'm ready for you to stop endangering the ship and general public with your atrocious handflying by just simply selecting the autopilot on. If the FADEC is fully operational I will allow you full use of the thrust levers until the first level off.

-On approach green needles full coupled approaches will ALWAYS be used. If the glideslope is inop this is the one time I will allow you to speak on the radio. You will declare an emergency and state that since you are an inept FO who is incapable of flying approaches without coupled precision guidance and that you request immediate vectors to the nearest airport with an operational ILS.

-If all goes well I will take command of the thrust levers below 200kts and allow you to 'fly' the approach. At about 20 feet, I will disconnect the autopilot and do a proper commander flare. Squeaking that ragged out 900 on so gently that the FA's will still be serving drinks in the back and all women within 200 yards will kindly remove their tops in appreciation.

-About .2 seconds after touchdown I will yell. "YOU'VE GOT THE TOPS" as I grab the seat armrest and clamp down on the breaks as hard as humanly possible (leg day bruh). Making sure to achieve at least 4 red "12's" on the "cool-landing-o-meter" at the bottom right corner of ED-2. Aerobraking until about 80 knots.

-On the taxi in you will watch my masterful lordom as I command our great ship into the dock marking another successful leg. Complete with a water cannon salute and woman from the local hooters (or twin peaks) lining the ramp area celebrating another successful "FO's leg" under the supervision of commander FB.

Somehow we are short handed rsv FOs, but allegedly overstaffed. I don't get it. Look at Monday the 26th in PHX for reserve availability. There are 7 reserves available, 6 of which have assignments starting on the 26th, so unless I'm not seeing something, there really is only one reserve FO available not counting airport reserves. Seems low. I'm sure Mesa crew line/tracking is all over it tho.

Technically $22.18 per hour. Same on every plane.

Sometimes I think our staffing is run by the Soviet State Planning Committee.
