Are there good pilots from a 4 year degree program? Yes, I'm sure there are. But, what I've seen are lazy SJS wanna be's still living off their parents while pursuing their life long dream at 21 years old R-ATP morons that can't fly a cross wind landing. Book smart but still a dumba$$.
That's better than no-smarts ATP. Are there some good ATP grads? Absolutely. If you were motivated and studied way more than the minimum, you could be a pretty good pilot. Other than that, I've never been to any other place that taught the absolute minimum to pass a checkride. There was no Airmanship taught at that place. It was teach to the test, pay your money, and move on. At the VERY least, a ERAU graduate or aviation university grad will have a very good base of knowledge. I'm not saying an aviation university is the best option. I know for a fact, though, that there is as little unsupervised flying or solo flying at ATP as legally allowed. At least at ERAU, your long commercial cross-country is solo and VFR.

Line guarantee is only good compared to RAH. I hope the best for your next contract. What's the status on your negotiations? What's the expectations over there?

Hahahaha. LMAO. JO knows how to play ALPA. ALPA talks tough but the pilot group has no leverage. It's all a secret until it's a done deal.

- Bases all over country.

- Great group of CP's.

- Lots of movement. Most junior CRJ CA is Fall 2013, Most junior EJET CA is summer 2013.

- Great crews, these guys are awesome, don't even compare to the guys I flew with at RAH.

- Quick upgrade? (but for how long?) I had stopped recommending friends to come here after Spring 2014 because I figured that would be the cutoff for quick upgrades. But everytime we turn around there's a new announcement of aircraft.

- The company leaves you alone, I know guys who call off every month or every other month, no harassment or carpet dances have followed.

- Stability, we have zero 50 seaters. (For now....) Longest contracts with our mainline partners of any regional. Oil is low now = 50 seaters make money... but for how long?

- ERJ and CRJ on certificate, we can essentially take any aircraft tomorrow to be flying next week.

- Be prepared to be on RSV 2-5 months (winter) or 1-3 months (summer). You will be bidding in the top 30% of you base 12-16 months after hire. (FOs)

- Line guarentee. EFBs. GREAT training department.

-Everyone keeps hoping for a "better" contract. We're not getting a new contract as long as we're growing like this. I see it as- by the time Mesa gets a new contract, I'll have moved on. It's how this regional new flying/quick upgrade wave works.

Funny, I was just checking out the Skywest thread and noticed a lot of complaining. Interestingly enough, most of it sounded about the same as most other regionals. In fact, at least there is some semblance of a contract at Mesa that one can enforce. Does the Skywest "student council" do anything to enforce the handbook?

For a super dooper mainline wide body guy you sure spend plenty of time rolling in the mud with the others.

SkyWest is still in your head. It's pretty funny.

FB, the irony of your "time rolling in the mud" post on a Mesa thread is too funny
