The website appears to be down now. I was looking for some morning EDM.

I recently had a two day trip that backed up to a four day trip, where I'd spend one night home after the end of the two-day, then begin the four day trip. Due to weather, cancellations, etc. I ended up stuck in an outstation for an extra night. The company changed my schedule to make it one big trip, under a single pairing number, in order to get me started on the four day ASAP upon returning to base. Is this legal?
When trying to pick up open time, I'm often denied for pairings that are too close together, but I guess the company doesn't have a problem with simply combining them when it suits their needs.

That does suck, and it's why I never bid trips back to back. The thought of that much time away without a single night in my bed runs chills up my spine. However - you really didn't get Mesa'd - the same stuff happens everywhere. You didn't technically get a day off stolen or anything, and if WX is involved there's really no foul. You may have work-rules that address this particular situation, but I seriously doubt it. And I can't see how you'd have broken any 117 issues, as long as you were given proper rest 'tween FDPs. You just stepped on a 'land-mine' dude; it happens; even when you're a LAMA.

So you got Mesa'd ehh? Dang I miss being able to use that term. I think my late friend Brian Alex coined it. Hopefully you packed for all 6 days, and not just 2!

Anyway, I'm glad you'll be able to make it somewhat work out.

Other than pay, upgrade and domiciles, I am trying to see who has a better contract and overall better morale..Mesa or Skywest. Has anyone worked at both airlines in the recent past that can offer advice? I have offers from both companies and trying to decide.

If it would be possible to avoid commuting at one over the other, then go for that one.
