Question? First off, I'm new to the 121 world. But I do have a lot of time and a good amount of TPIC all turboprop and all out of the country, so I would still need that 1000 121 time to upgrade. But my main focus right now and for the next year or so for personal reasons is quality of life and not too worried about a fast upgrade as I think I could go from a regional FO to a major with my time. I live in PHX and have close family in IAH that's why I'm looking at Mesa.
Why I'm saying all this is because I know most guys its all about getting that time to upgrade and getting paid. But I'm just looking for QOL for now. I'm wonder with Mesa PBS system is it possible to get some weekends off or max days off? CRJ and ERJ side?
Thank you

QOL for me is living in base, PHX or IAH and the best chance of that is at Mesa and then trying to get max days off. The other stuff doesn't matter to me.

The quality of the pairings in IAH has deteriorated significantly the last couple of months. They started out really great and went downhill. More shorter haul stuff with lower daily credit, uncommutable, etc. I have flown with several west coast types who now regret coming to the 175.

This is my first month holding a line (175) and I got 14 days off, 2 weekends off and 3 of my trips were commutable on one end. Next month I have 14 days off, 3 of my trips are commutable and I have all weekends off. So it's not "Max days off" but it certainly isn't bad. I have been here 6 months.

To the original poster-if you live in one of the United bases - IAH... Specifically IAD you can see 13-17 day off lines within 6-10 months at the company. As the movement on the FO side is incredible right now- 20-40 FO's upgrading a month. (Only 1000 total pilots)

Don't listen to the idiots who can barely spell PBS and struggle with bidding. As a new hire you can forget holding a line with weekends off but weekends off on reserve is no problem, I did it as a new hire.
