I'm a March '14 hire and am not anywhere close to the required 1000 hrs SIC. I have a feeling there's quite a few others in the same boat.

Sure enough, it gave up the ghost maybe 10 feet off the deck and dropped in. Darn thing hit so hard, the wings flexed dramatically, a few billowing clouds of tire smoke swirled around, and it bounced back into the air, dropped a wing, and then pancaked back onto the ground. Easily the worst 121 landing I've ever seen. And in calm winds, too.

Don't they teach you guys how to land?

(opens popcorn) *

*True story, though.

Maybe you could go instruct for them with your massive amounts of CRJ experience?

I'm flying a Cessna? Really? Hmm. How did I (along with the CA and 2 FA's) get 76 people to Edmonton and back the other day?

Maybe they were taking pics of themselves. Did you not get the latest memo from Bombardier? Thrust levers to idle at 100 feet and grab the selfie stick

Great idea! I shall apply immediately.

(And I can't believe I even need to say this, but apparently this forum is for entertainment purposes only. While I haven't yet managed to achieve such a disastrous arrival as I witnessed yesterday, I'm sure I will one day. The -900 isn't easy to land, by any stretch of the imagination.

My Lord, I wasn't being serious and suggesting that Mesa pilots can't land airplanes. Apparently sarcasm is not well-detected on this forum...)

Sitting in the back of the plane doesn't count. I kid I kid.

Your idea of sarcasm seems pretty negative especially towards other pilots. How would you feel if you smashed one on and some guy on here wrote a paragraph about how awful that SkyWest landing was lol... Why even bring that junk up?

I find it amusing as well but it sounded more like a below the belt comment than sarcasm. All of us at some point have drilled it onto the ground pretty good, and if you haven't, well just wait until summer time in PHX when you hit those thermals right over the runway.
