Did you factor in IOE trips that are still open?

Sure this is entertaining, and it's how I spend my morning coffee time, but there is also some good info on here. The segregation of regionals and mainline is slowly eroding, and that's a good thing.
Never alluded to what you suggest...not sure where you got it. If you look at his posts, they are all in various regional forums and none in any major forums, which is odd, for a major pilot to be in the regional land spewing condescending crap, as if he is looking for guys down "beneath" him to boost his ego. You post relevant posts and engage in decent conversation. He acts like a d bag in someone else's forum. There is a difference, one that you normally pick up on.

It certainly came across that way, and I have seen posts directed at me (not from you) stating the same thing. But I see your point though, and d-bag was exactly the word I was thinking for him. I will say that I hardly participate on the APC CAL/UAL board because just about every thread turns in to "legacy bashing". I do participate quite a bit on our private forums as that is where that "dirty laundry" should be aired.

I couldn't listen to the full phone conference. Are we looking at industry average for the next contract? I heard them kill some guys dreams about better health-care.

Uh oh. Bid is out. Didn't expect the 175 to go so junior.

That's a 1 year 5 month upgrade onto the 175 for a few of those guys.

Pretty much. They were extremely vague about the changes they are aiming for in the new contract, which leads me to believe there aren't any. They kept referencing the company's financial audit and how profit margins are razor thin compared to what they were 5 years ago, which is true of most regionals according to them. It didn't sound very optimistic at all.

I doubt I'm the only one who feels this way but there's going to have to be eventual contract gains across the board to get people in the door. If the labor supply actually dwindles and the regionals can't raise pay while still turning a profit, then maybe we need to think about burning this part of the industry down and starting over.

It sounded to me that in their opinion if we were a wholly owned airline they would be able to make more progress but like tinman said there are very small profit margins to take from so they're going to work on "non-economic" improvements. Doesn't sound very promissing. Also, that for an airline to go on strike, which I'm not saying is a good or bad idea, is nearly impossible. So that's nice for management to never have to worry about that.

Yeah, the call wasn't exactly encouraging.

In other disappointing news: no PHX FO vacancies and none backfilled after the upgrade awards, should've been a few backfills at least.
