As someone who's flown the CRJ in the UAL and AA/UsAir System and now in the EJET/UAL system.

As for now I live near no base. Looking to move tho. Thinking phoenix for a multitude of reasons. Also think I had a choice between ejet class and crj but didn't have enough time to get my affairs in order on the home front to make it happen in time.

Nah, everything I've heard from folks who fly the Ejet has been good. It sounds like many of the quirks of the 145 were fixed, not the least of which was quality of the assembly. As for me, I live in a CRJ base so it's time to leave the jungle jet behind for... whatever nickname the CRJ has.

If you tell them you need to wait until X date to start but want the ejet, I think they would accommodate. Especially if you said it was ejet or nojet. I'd rather live in Houston than Dallas, and PHX is shrinking. Forget holding PHX as a captain. Guess you could upgrade into the ejet when the time comes. If I didn't live in PHX I would have picked the ejet. Don't care about being shiny, but you will at least have an FMS and are more likely to have both packs and the APU running all the time...def can't say the same about the CRJ. Plus, as mentioned, there are better trips.

We are in the process of losing our LA flying (staffed out of PHX), so we lost a significant number of lines between March and now (20-25 I think?) but are allegedly going to pick a little bit more up in June/July. PHX isn't growing, and what little attrition exists from the PHX CA ranks just doesn't appear, at least to me, to allow much of an opportunity for Captains to hold PHX in any reasonable amount of time.
