Awwwwwww...you had to DOWNGRADE to survive the recession?
Cry me a river bro--at least you weren't on the street.
It's comical listening to people like you and wt huffing and puffing about how hard you had it, when the only reason you've had a job (and kept your seniority) for the last decade is that you "bent over" and kept working under a concessionary contract.
I literally roll my eyes and laugh everytime I hear a Mesa pilot like you huff and puff about "holding the line" and "holding out for what you deserve." You have no idea what you're talking about--you didn't even get furloughed by Mesa in the downturn. No one should listen to you, because you've never "held the line" and gone through the consequences that ensue.
You guys also keep confusing the current profitability of our legacy partners with the financial position of Mesa and other regionals. Do you think the MEC is just lying to us about the results of the independent audit? Sure, JO could have a bunch of money in some offshore account that we don't know about, but I for one am not voting against a payraise based on a conspiracy theory.

Just went through DFW today. It's just as horrendous as it was 6 months ago. Maybe worse. How have all those clowns on the ramp not been fired? Why does American stand for it?

Because they are unionized and know the system and how to play it. Unlike ALPA, their union is very strong. Get caught marshalling in an airplane at a gate you weren't assigned to and you'll be getting a phone call from the union the same day. Most of them are prior Executive Airlines guys and have been around for a LONG time.

That's the other half of it: new hires make nothing now. The envoy president said he hired 200 new guys right before the rebanking two months ago. New guys wear orange vests for 3-6 months. Here we are just a few months later and very very few orange vests left. It hasn't even gotten hot yet. Usually by mid summer, we are out of new hires and all that is left is the lazy long term guys, who are moving even slower because they know they have even less of a chance of being fired.
Things were fine here until some moron came up with "Dynamic Manning". They spent a fortune on hand held computers to tell everyone where to go, and now a fortune on jet fuel from planes idling for gates. All so they could shave a few rampers off. Stupid.

Speaking on new hires, one guy in DFW was marshaling us in wearing a beanie and skinny jeans. It was 87 degrees out.
