Question about Mesa:
I see FO pay mentioned quite often in this thread. If you were to take the aspect of less pay out of the equation because it wasn't a factor for you and didn't matter, is Mesa a good regional to fly for?
Thank you in advance for your help. Doing a little homework up front.

Thanks I'm trying to save my pennies for IAH and life on reserve. Things I'll be paying for just so I don't freak when my first pay check is zero:
iPad & mount, uniforms, KCM, commuter airport parking, base parking, and do we really have to pay for soda water on the plane during flight?
Feel free to add to the list of miscellaneous charges I will incur by joining MESA?

Why would you pay for base and commuter parking?
Who is feeding y'all this info? Are you really that dense?
Of course we don't pay for drinks on the plane.

Who cares if he doesn't need the money? I don't find it offensive, in fact I enjoy picking the brain of these guys on money matters during a 4 day.

Dear Jimf, you might be wealthy but most of us here are not. Please respect your future coworkers and do not provoke by saying you don't care about pay rates. It is not professional, neither polite. If you don't care about salary keep it for yourself. I think you should avoid posts like "Pay is at the bottom of my list needs". People here are struggling to cover their expenses. At least show some respect to them
A lot of us are financially able to suck up a few years of bad pay, it's nowhere near "our fault" that the company pays so poorly.

if you are taking about contracts, labor agreements.... I get that. If they have people who will work for less, they won't raise their wages. "it's bad for everyone". I have been around a little while and realize that "everyone" is worried about themselves. I wish it wasn't this way, but it is. So I have to look at it like a means to an end.... focusing on the end result in this career... not hobby.

Exactly! You nailed it. This is exactly why I posted this. I want people to realize that you can not afford even an efficiency apartment in IAD. Those of us that are not single and have other responsibilities, don't really have the same options that a single guy does. Be thankful for your flexibility.
Just posting information so people can use it to make decisions based on what works for them. If it works for you, do it! If it won't work for you, find another option. Just managing expectations.
