"Heard" that's not in the new TA, hoping it's true...

Read paragraph 9 in the MAG MEC email sent out on 23 July. The whole email would probably be a good read if you have the time. Lots of questions are answered, including this one.

50 seat base pay is in our current contract. Mesa could have 0, 1, or a million -200s, and our soft/base pay (for CAs anyway) is still "50 seat" pay until a new contract supersedes this one. Arbitrators determined this a few months ago, because we let that language in the last contract, and JO has continued to exploit our mistake.

When reading and voting on contracts, the language is extremely important. Words matter and are routinely exploited as much as possible by management, often to the point of lawsuits/arbitration. This happens at the majors as well. A seemingly small loophole, or something apparently insignificant (how we worded 50 seat/base pay for example), can result in huge financial loss down the road when dynamics change. That's why I would urge careful consideration in this upcoming vote. Hopefully MAG ALPA and their team vetted this thing with a fine toothed comb, and any potentially big issues with language are found and publicized.

Also, dynamics have changed rapidly in the regional industry. Is a 4-5 year contract really a good idea? Vote carefully.

Ah I remember skimming through that e mail but never went back and read it until now. A good read for sure. Thanks

11 fewer lines in PHX next month. Ouch. Hope it stops soon.

Rookie question, but where do you see that again? I'm looking at Navtech but only see 1508 lines.

No EJet upgrades in the new standing bid. Hmm...

Can I get one of you insiders to reassure me that all is well?
