Can't tell if serious. But your past posts make it look like you are.

I'm glad you at least have perspective. While I don't necessarily agree with your choice, at least you are honest. My problem is with the guys who haven't worked anywhere else touting how great Mesa is. I'm sure your group is a great bunch of guys, but that contract is hurting all of us. I'm doing my best to not sound like I'm attacking you guys, I want your contact to improve. I just want the starry eyed CFIs to realize there's more to life than fast upgrades. Management really has no incentive to make things better if classes are filling up. Hopefully you guys can hold out for something mutually beneficial.

They directly bennifit from creating instability in the industry. While their pilots fight to be the top paid in the industry our management is forced to out bid each other for flying so that we can have the opportunity to some day make it to a major. Regionals are designed as places to not encourage people to stay for the long haul.
I'm not attacking anyone. Just trying to keep a little perspective in the conversation. I'm hoping you guys get a good deal. It benefits all regional pilots if you do.

I totally agree with you, and I think people new to the industry are seeing that there are a lot of other options out there for FOs. Without a fast upgrade there are half dozen better places for FOs to be. I really think the supply demand market for pilots is going to correct the problem. Remember most of the new people on property won't even get to vote on this. The vote really falls into the hands of those who have been here for some time. If they vote in a sub par contract not competitive with the industry, FOs will leave. If it gets voted down and the growth has stopped, FOs will leave. Bottom line is Mesa is going to have to be competitive with the rest of the regionals to maintain reliability. Unless there is a steady flow of new planes that is the only way to staff for the next 10 years barring a drastic change in the industry.

The thing everyone needs to realize is that the leverage has never been greater, and may never be this great again, to get a good contract.

I think about 850 or so pilots will get to vote after looking at the seniority list, depending on when it is out to vote, which is roughly 3/4ths of the total pilot group.

A little under 300 of the voting 850 will have been here 2.5 years or less, some of whom are prior 121 guys who know the deal and don't plan on being here much longer and will vote accordingly. So roughly 1/3 of the voters will be relatively new guys. A 2/3rds majority of the voters have been at Mesa since 2008 and before.

I'm sure management and the bean counters figured out who the voting constituents are and agreed to a TA accordingly.

Why do I have this feeling that's what Eagle and RAH said the night before their voting opened.

Be realistic; there's no magic pot of salary gold. The union has tried to manage expectations about that. QOL improvements and getting rid of 50-seat pay will help. Better FO pay will help more. Industry leading? Not likely, we just got out of bankruptcy and are starting to be profitable. Industry average? Maybe, we'll see.

Oh, and for the noobs who are declaring themselves a "no" vote, you have to be on property a year to vote. Just saying.

Any guesses as to when the vote will happen?

The email said the road shows and sales pitches will happen beginning in late August, so I would guess sometime in September. Any union guys have a more accurate answer?

Mec is not even considering it until August 12-13 at the meeting. they have to agree to pass it on first. After that then the road shows get planned. Early-mid September at the earliest.
