Is it a rumor or is it confirmed?

When are we going to stop the bashing. Every regional I interviewed for pretty much lied to me about something. Cant you guys get it that people don't care what you post, they are going wherever they feel they fit in. I have been hearing the same things about mesa over 3 years now and they are one of the regional thats fulling classes so I guess we all have to get over it. I have a few friends at most regionals and no one is happy, thats the meaning of a regional=(PAY YOUR DUES AND KEEP IT MOVING) I can't see the importance of us keep bashing each other or any regional. At the end of the day we are all trying to get somewhere better so let people choose where they want to go they need to have an ATP which means they are at least 23, they are old enough to know what they want.

They all have a job to do.. sell you. Its not to say Mesa is doing anything differently, OP simply wanted to get the facts out there that contradict what the recruiters are telling people. That is one purpose of a forum such as this. Information. OP did nothing wrong and to debate these matters only goes to further enhance our understanding of the specifics of each airline.

This is how it works in the airline world as it does among other industry's. When someone stops buying the product, changes are made in policy or sales that hopefully will go to improve the company's market share. This is what ALL (including Gojet as of today) are doing. They are improving their contracts making these places more attractive to potential candidates. As OP mentioned, what is being sold to recruits about the quick upgrade at Mesa is flat out false, at least for new hires. Its time for Mesa to get inline with their competition or be left behind. Simple as that. Nothing wrong with getting information to fellow pilots about what is really going on out there, regardless of what airline we are speaking of.

Overall, the tone of the forum is atrocious. On occasion its nice to have a informative thread, at least before all the poo throwing monkeys turn up.

AAG Update: Non-rev travel – Free of charge!
December 15th, 2015
Travel is one of the best privileges of working at an airline. As part of the largest airline group in the world with the best network, it’s an even more compelling benefit at AAG. It’s American’s goal to have the best travel program in the business, and each year they review the travel program and compare it to other airlines to make sure that statement remains true.

In 2016, once all the necessary system updates can be programmed, American has announced that non-rev travel for both main and premium cabins will be free of charge.

Here’s how it will work:

Employees, eligible retirees and your eligible dependents (spouse, domestic partner, registered companion and kids) will enjoy Main Cabin, Business and First Class travel at no charge. If the seats are available, you will be in them.

Just like some popular credit cards, there’s no annual fee! Some carriers waive premium upgrade fees yet require eligible travelers to pay an annual fee for their travel benefits. That’s not the case here. American’s program is ALL free of charge, NO fee travel. Note: Some taxes when traveling internationally will still apply; they’re required by certain countries and airports, and are out of any airline’s control. Similarly, under IRS rules, an employee is subject to imputed income for travel by domestic partners or registered companions.
American anticipates they’ll be able to have these changes up and running by June 1, 2016.

so tired of these butt hurt whiny little millenials. Mommy and Daddy promised you too much and you still didn't get that brand new BMW.
Every recruiter will find out what you want to hear and then make ambiguous statements. It's like fishing. Find the right bait and you'll catch em. From your one and only post I can not give you any credence. Good luck in your career and the 5 or more regionals you'll work for.

I was in a recent 175 captain upgrade class and the most junior pilot in that class was a March 2014 hire, which is more senior than everyone on the 175 CA list on page 1 of this thread.

Also the latest bid award for April shows the most junior CA slots awarded by equipment:

E175 - July 2014
CRJ - Feb 2015

I would only anticipate a handful of monthly CRJ slots from here on out covering attrition. Also keep in mind Ejet deliveries will be completed by the end of this year and there are no new CRJs coming online, so hiring going forward after 2016 will be only for attrition.

For those who are in the Military and thinking of Mesa. I just found out that Mesa suspended my nonrev flight benefits while being called to Active Duty Military for a deployment. What a crap company. Go Mesa!
