The only good thing is that we get priority on our own metal IF you can get listed and checked in. And if there is a seat open in first on our own metal then we should get a shot at it before the other nonrev who retired 5 years ago, but unfortunately the "new" American doesn't see it that way.
Lately the struggle for me is just getting listed. Plenty of open seats this time of the year on my commute, 3 out of 4 daily flights operated by Mesa, and yet I'm still sweating bullets over getting work because I keep getting the GD "general booking error" when listing online or someone on the 800 number fracks up my listing and the gate agent can't check me in (happened last friday). I do not understand what is so special about Jetnet that they cannot give us access to it. I feel like I'm being punished for not choosing to work at a WO'd.
Oh, and twice I've had my dependents stuck somewhere because I couldn't get them listed through myIDtravel. It truly is an awful service which we pay to have the privilege of using.

Speaking as an Envoy pilot, those "worthless" AA travel benefits have taken me and my family all over the world. Every continent except Africa...my parents travel multiple times a month all over the place. Never have any of us ever not made it to where we were going. 90% of the time I'm in First/Business class.
But yeah, I can see how those benefits would suck if you work for a non-AA wholly owned like Skywest. You guys have boarding priority lower than any AA employee...including gate agents and janitors. That is a long standby list to climb up if the loads are full. Envoy/PSA/Piedmont have equal boarding priority along with AA pilots so it's easier for us.

He was responding to what I posted, which was non-WO'd regionals and their respective AA travel benefits. Totally different system than what you have at PSA. I wouldn't even call it a benefit, but more like a small perk of the job when it works.

^thats a lot of anger and frustration in one post. You must be convinced you'll be a Captain at Delta any day now, right special snow flake?
And for the record, I'll take high priority on AA flights over equally low priority on 3 airlines. You must also think you have better benefits than Delta pilots. After all, Delta pilots only have high priority on ONE airline...while you sit at the bottom of THREE!
Yep, makes perfect sense.

^That's a lot of assumptions on your part. Not angry, not frustrated, not delusional about my benefits compared to mainline. Have you ever had benefits on more than one carrier? My guess is you don't know what you don't know. Keep up with the name-calling though, it only adds to your already amazing credibility.

^One thing to also keep in mind, if being DFW based is your goal...is that Mesa is moving their DFW operation to PHX in 2017 per AA's wishes. This isn't information that has been shared with the Mesa pilot group yet...which is why I try not to bring it up publicly. Also it invites speculation and anger.."why haven't we heard anything yet??" type questions. I've seen it on paper in official form...the DFW Chief Pilot's office (Envoy) received the notice first in December 2015. Not sure how the FA's Union got hold of it, but they sent out an official Union email informing them of Mesa's departure in 2017.
So don't take my word for it. But if being DFW based is your ultimate goal I wouldn't go to Mesa right now. For NUMEROUS reasons that go beyond the DFW base, but that is just another reason.
Oh, and Mexico customs? No big deal. Some of our best overnights are in Mexico and the people down there treat us great. DFW has an EZ pass lane now that crew members can go through when coming back in...which cuts down on the transit time. Going into Mexico is even easier. Some guys get up in arms because they open your bag and look through it. In my experience, the nicer you are to them the less they look through your bag. It's just a formality they have to go through. I've heard of guys with horrible attitudes slamming their luggage down on the table....probably not a good idea.
