When the CEO tells the pilot group, in no uncertain terms, that there is no plan or intention to make it a better place to work, why would the pilots keep banging their heads into a brick wall? There are so many choices now, so many options of companies that are adapting to the changing environment. Other companies are showing that they value pilots. Believe them.

This has nothing to do with management valuing pilots. It has to do with the fact that management can't get pilots to fill the seats so they have to increase pay and better working conditions out of necessity not out of the goodness of their hearts. Trust me, the industry changes for the worst so will the benefits and pay.

They need pilots, true, thus the changes but management will ALWAYS pay the least they can for employees, no matter the industry. Just happens they need to pay us better now because they need us more.

Those of you who believe we will see a pay raise are incredibly misguided. The implosion has already begun. JO had already stated in no uncertain terms that he will not pay pilots more money. There was a small caveate to his statement "unless he has to". He still doesn't have to. We are still completing flights and departing on time. Until those factors start to decline and we can't staff those flights then you'll see some movement towards improvements. Holiday flight schedules are going to be horrifying. And, I don't even want to know what the summer of 2017 will look like.

And ya, I'm sure JO is gonna quiver in his boots when he sees non-company approved ties
Put the pipe down dude, crack is whack. If you want to make things better get involved with your union and steer the ship right rather than posting asinine solutions with disastrous or embarrassing outcomes.

It not "MIGHT" be illegal, it IS illegal. I've posted evidence of that within this thread and you need to stop suggesting it unless you want to perform a huge disservice to Mesa pilots and those that represent them.

OR it could be that management at Mesa CAN in fact financially pay similar rates but chooses not to. This is the more likely scenario.
Our pilot group will NOT agree to a contract without industry average pay. I guarantee it No matter what type of PBS wording they get, hotel language, or even getting us an extra min day off. Pay is what it will boil down to and JO has already said he will not pay any significant amount more.
The only power that our pilot group has right now is to spread the word with all of our fellow pilots that are looking at regionals. This is not the place to be regardless of what you are being told by recruiting. We have to inform them of the reality of what we are dealing with and management's attitude towards and meeting the most basic reason to hold a job. Being appropriately compensated for our work. Our union is not getting it done for us, so we need to ourselves.
Spread the word outside of this forum. Tell others that if you want to have health insurance on top of just yourself expect to pay well over a thousand dollars a month. Tell them their bring home pay after they get out of training will be less than 1500.00 a month.

Our union is ineffective. JO has already indicated that he will not increase our pay numerous times. The union is currently in negotiations for a contract that WILL fail. They are negotiating terms where in the end when they talk about pay, JO will offer very limited numbers and it will fall flat. The ONLY answer with this man is mediation and the courts. If Mesa can't pay what the other non-wholly owned regionals pay, then we shouldn't be in business. The question becomes why are the other non-wholly owned regionals able to pay so much more and Mesa cant? Bad management, bad business deals, bad contracts? What is the reason? This all falls back on poor management.
