Don't use a broad brush. 42% of us voted no. A huge portion, if not half at least of the other 58% were Mesa lifers close enough to retirement that they would have voted in anything better than what we had. Very frustrating.

Between the koolaid comatose lifers and MAG ALPA out there brainwashing the newbies into believing this was the best we could ever get, we were screwed. It's hard to fight against your own union, especially when they have a much bigger megaphone. The degree to which they actively sold this thing was appalling.

Mesa hasn't decided they are continuing the signing bonus program. I suspect they will need to continue the program in order to attract pilots. But, that is not apprarently the way that JO thinks, he will discontinue the signing bonus, pilot recruiting will drop off, and then in a panic with 8 more planes coming, he will reinstate it.

Also, on the Ejet side, it is $30k after IOE, $5k after one year (which just went away with the TA approval), and $10k after two years (which met a similar demise). You must be a FO to collect the later bonuses.

I came onto this forum a few months ago looking for some advice weather or not to take a class date with Mesa, I received some good feedback but mostly hate. I'm glad that I didn't listen to the neysayers and took the class date. With the signing of this new deal I really feel like I beat the flood in and will be sitting pretty! Thank you to the people who actually provided helpful information for my decision making!

Haha right. Enjoy the slow death of Mesa.

It's time for F/O's to leave for other regionals who are offering the big bonus money. This accomplishes two things:

1) it puts the money in your bank account that your current airline will not pay you (only its new-hires)

2) it forces the new company to have to eat your training costs, while the regional industry doesn't really gain many 'new' pilots

In other words, make it a movement. Shuffle around, make some money - and force the industry pay for its addiction to slave-labor wages. Hey - they created the rules . . . so use them to your advantage. The 'new-hire bonuses' were obviously meant to attract pilots who were not yet in the regional industry. Nothing says it excludes those who are currently at one regional - but want to go to another for the money.

When life hands you lemons, find the dude whose life handed him vodka . . . and make it a party!

I voted no for this contract. Do you get a decent raise yourself right now? Yes. Does that good raise for a few people make it a good contract? NO. I love what I do and have had some good times at this company. But it is frustrating that when people come to this company knowing what the pay is and then fold at getting an increase when the contract is lacks so much. If we would have held our ground it would have been so much better. Good luck paying for the health insurance here if you have a family.

There's so much evidence against this being true. To base your 'no' this alone would be foolish.

We were told on the last TA that was the best the company could do. But there was more in this new contract. The evidence you speak of comes from the sales pitches forced down our throats

I was considering Mesa since I live by IAH, but think I'll just stick to my hub to hub commute after reading this thread. All of these threads are a big gripe session, but if all this stuff about Mesa is true, I'll stay away.
