Pay Increase?
Think we’re hemorrhaging pilots now? Does anyone see a Mesa pay increase LOA in the near future (2018) because of the new Endeavor contract? Once Endeavor’s contract goes into effect, the W/O’s will probably be doing just that. Let’s see what Mesa’s pilot exodus turns into then.

And no, Mesa will fight any pay increase. Remember, our own union thinks we make average pay, still not admitting that we are at the bottom for pay.

Everyone who thinks that continued mediation would have won us a huge pay day needs to dig into how that decision went down to see what reality is like out there for unions.

Just look at how well the Alaska/Virgin arbitration award went to see what mediation thinks of pay parity requests of pilots.

And yet out of 1100+ pilots not a single one of them stood up and volunteered to do the job.
It's really easy for you to stand on the outside and point fingers. Were you ever a union volunteer or rep when you were here? Have you ever dealt with the company on a union level?
Think what you want about Andy. But he is by no means in the "company pocket" and at least has the guts to stand up and volunteer his time to do what he can for this place. Can the same be said for any of you?

No but we were in mediation and I know numerous people on this board expected the mediator to just walk in and tell Mesa to give into the pilots pay demands. I'm using the AK/VA example to prove that wasn't going to happen.

Mediation does little if the company isn't ready to bargain (Spirit, Frontier). We were in mediation for a little over a month....ridiculously fast. The company was ready to come to an agreement finally. I believe we could have gotten more. 58% of the pilots disagree or was just plain tired of the negotiations and wanted some money now. It just doesn't help when our pilots and union members think we were getting industry standard when we voted.
