The NJA bashers on this thread are complete DB’s. Relax! You’re at a major and life is good. You make more money. We get it. Some like this lifestyle. You’re right. You can’t compare fracs with the majors. But they’re both still just jobs in the end. Like I’ve said in other threads—The only thing that matters is what happens under your own roof. More money doesn’t mean jack. A job is a job.

Why would you do that? Your 110K on top of her is eaten up on taxes if filed jointly, you may bring home an extra 2500 a month in actual take home but you obviously don’t need it. Once on retirement you would truly be in a hole with taxes...go golf 18 a day or hit the gym and see if you can get your six pack back. Enjoy life, let your wife pay for your lifestyle and smile.

Easy Maryanne. Humping bags, cleaning toilets (never done it in 8 years that’s why there’s line guys), and restocking the plane combined takes less than 30 mins. So take it easy and enjoy the joint you’re at!

You telling me if you had an income of 300K a year rolling into the household you would work at all? I was clearly indicating no way no how not a chance would I...now since you are Uber junior to me not sure why you think I need to be reminded of what my job description is, but I appreciate your input Ginger....now go grab me a coffee!

300k sounds nice, but that's an entirely different tax bracket. After taxes, not much to show for it. You get ME a coffee you big girl.

More than a third of those earning $200,000 and up had an effective tax rate between 15 percent and 20 percent. Just under one-third had an effective rate between 20 and 25 percent. So, if you're earning $250,000, this means you're pretty typical if you're paying between $37,500 and $62,500 in federal income taxes.

Well that would mean you would still have about 20K a month in after tax dollars. Not really what you state of “not much to show for it”. Obviously your mileage will vary depending on deductions and number of dependents etc etc etc. It’s called a progressive tax structure, not all of it is taxed at a higher rate Ginger....

That's not how tax brackets work.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere previously in this thread, but how long is initial training once you get hired?

2 weeks for INDOC, minimum 5 days off, about 23 days for aircraft initial (more or less depending on the fleet), minimum 5 days off, OE is usually two 7 days tours (some fleets are backed up on OE). I hope this helps.

Every two days of initial training is one day off.
