It's like you work at a different company....
Interpret how you like. I'm presenting numbers and facts, not emotions.

Also, your emotions inserted an alternative fact into my post; I never stated "floodgates".

Here's another factual number. With the exception of 3 months around contract ratification, which was near zero, PIC attrition has ranged from 4.7- 5.2 for the last 2 years.

No, you aren't presenting facts. You are presenting hopes and dreams. You seem to conveniently ignore that the company is shrinking lol. Large aircraft orders right round the corner!

Again, interpret how you like. I didn't say anything about growth or shrinking. I'm posting the historical attrition. Go over to the message board. The charts with historic data are all there. I post them every month. Next posting will be around the 15th.

Side note. How did you come to the conclusion the company is shrinking? Maybe from the data and charts I've been posting the last couple years?

The charts must show that aircraft deliveries aren't matching disposals, and that we aren't replacing the pilots that leave. If you are posting charts, they must show that...

Sounds like we share a common interest in tracking this info to find factual data and predict where the company is going. PM me on NJASAP and I'll send you all the data, seniority lists, and spreadsheets I have covering the last decade. You can also track NJA airframes below. The FAA's website seems to be about 2 weeks delayed from actual.

Federal Aviation Administration - Airline Certificate Information - Detail View

It's time consuming to assemble all the info, but I find the results are the best way to make career decisions.

You two got off on the wrong foot because you both interpret the phrase "NJA will start upgrades December/January" to be different things.

In the literal sense - yes, we might have some people upgrading.

To an SIC that is looking at 2 decades in the right seat, "start upgrades" means a protracted period of upgrades that could change the lifestyle, income, and career future of hundreds of people.
BUT that isn't happening, so when us SICs hear "start upgrades" we laugh bitterly, then go about the business of updating our applications.

True. The term start upgrades implies that there will be such a need for captains that FO's will just start upgrading monthly. 5 FO to CA upgrades are predicted for 2017. If 20 FO to CA bids happened this year I would be floored. Even 20 upgrades a year I am looking at over 10 years to upgrade.

well...coming from a Captain, it may not be implied. But to an FO, we infer it.

Fair enough. I didn't realize this info was upsetting to some. I will keep it private in the future.

No need to do so.
Captains and FO's speak a different language at NJA when it comes to the future of the company.

Miscommunications will happen.
