Most senior guys (large cabin, cc76) are presently making a base salary of $250k + at least $25k in soft money for a grand total of $275k right now. In 8 years, that number goes to $310k. Clearly you aren't senior enough to have met any of them.

Actually, I am correct, but you apparently think I was referring to senior captains. I was referring to senior FO salary. With the long upgrade times involved, it would be foolish to compare senior captain pay at NetJets. After 10 years at NetJets a FO gets to be a "senior guy", but what difference does that really make?

My comments are directed at FOs who do not have as much to lose as the captains. It seems to me, the majority of the captains are in golden handcuffs here. Not that great, but too much to risk going elsewhere.

That's what "senior" means...it means senior to everyone else. FO's, no matter how long they've been here, will always be relatively junior, and therefore...you guessed it, NOT senior. Next time, choose your words more carefully.

Having said that, you are correct. FO's here, no matter how "senior" they are...are screwed forever. For them, this is essentially Pizza Hut...the ultimate dead end job. They will never upgrade - not ever, and I think most of them are starting to figure that out.

There's a lot of denial on these boards of the obvious facts, but denial and conjecture doesn't pay the bills. No mandatory retirement age = dead end job. Period.

I really don't need a vocabulary lessson from you. I've lived in seniority for a long time. I am well aware that there are three kinds of pilot seniority....all use the same word. Next time read up; stash your superiority complex and join in with the regular folk who are trying to have a pleasant, non "mine is bigger than yours" conversation.

Yes...the lack of mandatory retirement age makes projecting up-grades virtually impossible. Another thing that seems to be at work is that the guys at the top (system seniority, not category) have a pretty good life and that might induce them to stay longer. This not only inhibits moving up, but it really impacts moving us to the higher paying equipment. I don't have a problem with senior captains staying at all....that's what seniority is all about. God bless 'em.

Sure ya do. You used the wrong words, I corrected you, you learned from it, and now you know better. You're welcome.

I always love when someone comes on here to explain how they are all knowing and only looking out for the junior guys. So you age out at the airlines and now you've been at NJ for how long? If you're that concerned about the junior guys, maybe it's time to move on and let others have a turn?

Age has nothing to do with a new hire coming on board. A retired airline guy that comes on board today is of no threat to the longevity of any pilot at NetJets. It is the 30 year olds that make a career out of NetJets, combined with no retirement age, that is the issue.

Until we have a mandatory retirement age, this place is frozen in time.

Fortunately, the attrition is picking up. Whether they replace them is the question. Can you say avg 19 work days a month plus extra days?

Proposed 120 new hires this year, it is mid way through May and we have 2 new hires on property. We have lost 2 pilots in 2 weeks. If we average 10 pilots a month leaving, I will upgrade in like 19 years. #fingerscrossed
