But please, do me a favor, STOP including per diem as part of your compensation. It IS NOT PART OF YOUR PAY. Also, if you think our health care is "100% free," I'd love for you to take over paying for all the "free" health care my better half has incurred over the past few years.

The over-riding point that some of us are making is that, given our management's ethical and business lapses, the realities of our market segment, current regulation (no mandatory retirement), and pilot group demographic, there are better career opportunities for younger pilots seeking a new job.

It's not whining. It's a reality check. And a warning.
Hey GeeWiz,

I said that my pay was NOT including per diem as I agree that it is not part of compensation. Some do though so I just wanted to make sure that everyone understood that it was not included.

Certainly if someone has an offer from SWA or a Legacy vs NJA, it is a no brainer to go with the former (unless they REALLY didn't want to commute). My point was that I have it pretty good and, other than pay, I would put my QOL on par with just about anyone.

You are correct about the medical. I should have said Zero premium medical/dental/vision. Certainly there are co-pays in there. My son just had some minor surgery, had to pay $100.

It's all good though. I hope everyone gets where they want to be!

David,

I am on the Phenomenal. I like it as I'm senior in my seat. I get vacations when I want, and most importantly, can hold the 52 day schedule. Max of 10% in fleet and seat (rounded down).

so you have to be in the top 10% of the fleet to get CC52, which does not apply to Applicants.

People are being placed (and kept) on the CC72 schedule against their will because of training events/displacements.

The fact that you are even considering going to SWA when on YR11 pay at NJA should tell potential employees all they need to know.

Also, be careful who you talk to. The 72 year old Eastern scab will tell you how awesome NetJets is.

Consider the source please.

Congrats on the upcoming interview! It was good running into you at the sim center last year.... I could finally put a face to a name!

Good luck!

SWA has the same thing through the "regular" plan I believe (with a few restrictions).

For those confused by the hiring, I think they hired like 5 people in Feb, other than that they haven’t hired in 2017 so the person that had been here 8 months was probably hired in December.

But don’t take people that have worked there at their word. Just listen to management, enjoy that 8 year upgrade and care free work lifestyle and have a great career! Hope you fit and you enjoy it.

Default Still thinking about NJ

I'm still sitting in the pilot pool, waiting for a training date. Now that it's clear there will be no classes in the next couple months, no one wants to return phone calls anymore. I can see why some guys might get bent out of shape if this treatment is typical.

Look, I get that the grass is always greener. We've all been places that suck at least a little, and hopefully we're all headed to places that are better. But I believe we all deserve a little transparency when it applies to our future, whether we are years into a company or just on the verge. If HR is trolling the forum, I hope they take that into consideration and let us know what the h*#( is going on.

Yep, though vision does have an added premium. I didn't get it, as its provider is only accepted at Pearle around me.

The Regular Plan is pretty good, but I'll be the first to admit that the Netjets insurance plan is a bit better. But the total compensation package is much, much better at SWA.

10 years will just barely get one into the 350. The 650 and Globals are not attainable at that longevity.
