Are there training contracts? yes. What you are really asking is: are pilots required to sign them for training?

Not something they've announced, but.... Suffice it to say they still need most people to stay around long enough to be profitable even if they are nice enough not to require it.

Not something they've announced? I signed one as a new hire and when I upgraded fleets.

Right, so did I. I'm saying that they haven't announced that they are doing away with them.

I got picked up for the Chieftain VFR program around the same time and didn't have to sign one either.

I applied May 2nd and received an offer letter May 17th. Indoc was June 13th. Ground school and sim training for the Brasilia was June 26th - July 27th. IOE was August 1-5. My first day flying the line was August 22nd.

Hope this helps.

On a side note, I think we're hurting for guys so badly at this point that they've done away with the punishment of a training contract; and instead have opted to incentivize people to stay with bonuses and retention programs. Rumor has it we are short 40 captains system wide.

I'm at part 135 ifr mins and would consider coming to amf for 6 months to get that multi time. 1 yr is too long.
In your opinion is the company amenable to that, given the staffing issues? Beech 99 training, how long does that usually take ? Would they award the be99 to somebody with less than 10 multi or would I get the cheiftan ?

Do you know if they are still looking for people or are they full up on the Chiefain VFR pilots? Where do they have you based at and how often you fly in a month?

Chieftains have never had a training contract. Just turbine aircraft.
