I don't see a job listing for VFR positions in the AMF Careers website so I'm guessing they're not currently hiring for the VFR program. At the time I was given a choice between PHX or ABQ. I've been averaging around 60 hrs a month in ABQ and haven't had to cancel a flight yet due to non-VFR Wx conditions on my assigned routes.

I'm not positive what all of the metro runs out there are. I have only flown out there once. The run I did was reserve in the morning, then an afternoon reposition from BUR to Oxnard, take freight from Oxnard to ONT then repo empty back to BUR. There is also a metro that goes to Santa Maria from BUR and one that goes to Visalia. I'm not positive which runs are actually open currently. Some are permanently assigned because of where the pilots actually live.

Put In an app a few days ago for the chieftan. I'm at 1250TT, 4 yr degree, prior part 135, clean record...I'm curious why they're not biting? Also haven't been able to get a hold of anyone in recruiting.

which position are you applying for? I put in my app on the 4th and received an email and a phone call today (7th) for a phone interview. I also had an issue with contacting AMF however it seems as if they are overloaded/understaffed at the moment.

Chieftan ABQ, but I'd take PHX too . Maybe monday then? I only have 6 multi but the mins don't specify multi hours requirement.

i wouldn't worry so much about the multi time, they will get you any multi time they need you to have for company's purposes if necessary. Plus you will prove your multi knowledge/skill during initial training. Plus you will go through an IOE phase before the cut you loose. I have a friend doing ABQ chieftain runs at the moment and he really enjoys the job, my advice is be patient and they will call, they are hurting for CA's.

I'm not certain, but I think we are also putting a hold on hiring because of Peak coming up. Everyone (including the training dept) will be flying starting the week before thanksgiving and so I was told we won't have classes for November and December. After the class starting next week the next new hire class will likely be in January.
