Me thinks QDriver is a really good source...I'd keep him in mind Hawg.

There have been some good outfits mentioned up in Alaska. Its a good idea to keep away from Chipola Aviation and Doug Gililland. Google "American Air Network" if you want to see why.

Iread the above post and it gave some good info. It sounds interesting. Thank you.
EMS = Earn Money Sleeping

At least that is what I did when I flew Air Ambulance

I can back up the "earn money sleeping" saying. There is no easier job out there in aviation

Just did that last night -- all overtime, too.

Do you guys enjoy the flying involved with Air Ambulance ops?

It's definitely not a time-building gig. Like any other 135 gigs, there are good places, ok places, and then the rest. I get to sleep at home daily and, on a 7/7 rotation, know my schedule from now until I leave.

Yes, i really enjoy the flying i get to do at an Air Ambulance. I left the regionals and came over to the EMS side of flying and my QOL has been so much better. Also, you actually feel like the flying you are doing is worthwhile. You're not dealing with passengers who "want" to go somewhere, you're dealing with patients who "need" to go somewhere. Theres a huge differnce between the two. I don't see myself ever leaving the Medevac side of aviation.

Anyone have any recommendations for good EMS operators in the Midwest (Indiana, Illinois, Ohio preferred)?
