Typically out station overnights in rented apartments. Yes you supply your own bed sheets etc etc.

Can anyone from SeaPort comment is it just 500 total flight hours requirement for FO position now, or it has something to do with Part 135 VFR PIC minimums (§135.243(b))?
I'm getting close to 500 hours, but do not have 25 night x/c hours.

A friend was recently hired there with 294 TT. 500 TT only applies to PIC positions AFAIK.

I applied back in May and received an email couple of weeks ago that "At this time, we are looking for pilots with 500 hours or more".
Probably it's just auto-generated response, but I'm going to reapply when hit 500 anyway.

FYI, outside of Alaska, there are no VFR captains in the SeaPort system. All captains in the Lower 48 meet IFR part 135 minimums.

Correct. I should have clarified that the 500 TT regulation only applies to VFR part 135 PICs. My apologies.

Default SeaPort base assignments

Hi, can anyone tell me how SeaPort awards bases to new hire FO's? Can you request a base and if so how difficult is it to get it? I'm referring specifically to PDX. Thanks.

Bases are awarded to new hires into vacant positions in seniority order.

Memphis is a junior base and rotating door of pilots.
Pdx is super senior
Alaska has its own set of pilots and like to hire locals and do their own thing.
