Who doesnt? Everybody wants to make the most amount of money possible. Most everybody would like to work there. Do you know that a beech 1900 is not transport category? You are obviously not military! That will count against you at 'purple' as you call it. Especially your sweet attitude.
What exactly is this supposed to mean? Are "non-military" types a lower form of person?

Dude, 1000hrs PIC in a Chieftan don't get ya anywhere near Brown or Purple. I have over 1000hrs Turbine PIC, Type rating, and more than double Ameriflights hiring mins and still not anywhere near the Brown or Purple as you like to call it.
I also know right now you're gonna need ALOT more time and experience than the silly 1000 PIC in a light twin. The BE99 is also considered light twin. The BE1900 I'm POSTIVE there are pilots with alot more experience than you that will get those slots. The Lear? forget about it. Guys/Gals work 5-20yrs trying to get into "Brown or Purple" be humble and pay your dues and enjoy the ride my young friend.

He doesnt mean that. He means the trend at brown and purple are military hires. 3/4 are retired or ex military pilots. Think about it..... You have guys going in the interview with thousands of hrs on the DC10 which is damn near an MD11 and thousands of hours of overseas flying. Now that doesnt always mean the job is theirs but it certainly increases their chances wouldnt you say?

Exactly my point! I was just suggesting that being former military really seems to increase your chances at Fedex, especially for networking reasons. Most I know there are former service.

Supposedly, what also increases your chances is coming on this forum and telling people that you are going to work there because you have exactly 1,000.00 hours in a beech 1900, metro, or navajo. A degree in pine cone management with a minor in karate from the University of Phoenix online is also the other way to get in.

A few things to the OP....

ONE.... if you didnt want negative postings about your arrogant plan....you should never have posted.

TWO...the off chance you will get hired at Amerflight in a few months is just that...probably less than that.... there are THOUSANDS of us on furlough or laid off applying everywhere with quals which dwarf your 135 mins...

THREE...have your plan.....read it.... then put it away for the next ten years and go back and look at it and see where you are then....

finally.....arrogance will get you NOWHERE in aviation... well except out the door or flying for some POS flight department.

I work at AMF and just got my 1000 in the 1900 a week ago, I wanna go to UPS but i have an econ degree and don't know anything about pine cones. If you could PM the inside info on reforestation then I'll have all the bases covered and should have a job within the month!

In all seriousness to the OP, I've had a lot of fun, learned a lot and for the most part am happy with the path I've taken so far. Don't get too obsessed with where you're gonna end up in ten years though, its definitely an enjoy the journey kind of industry since the endgame is so hard to reach.

Default The odds

OP,

UPS hires an average of 100 pilots per year. I understand that they have somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 applications on file from pilots that already meet and greatly exceed the minimums. I don't know what the numbers are for FedEx but I bet they are simmilar.

So, If you are comfortable with those odds then perhaps you should include playing the lottery in your plan?

To the OP. Maybe now you will see what I was trying to say back in the beginning. Unfortunately, I was part of the 42% that had one or more of my posts deleted. I agree with the person who said put your plan away for about ten years, then take it out and see where you stand. For me, after 36 years in aviation, I have been places where I never PLANNED to be. And I still love it!
