Ameriflight etc vs. 121 world

Uh, Texas PA31, sure that isn't outstation based? Which, of course appeals to many also, just flip the schedule so you're home all day and gone 5 nights.
Normally, I'd say a chieftain outstation is a bad move, but given the situation, you're going to be in a chieftain for a while anyway now days. If you like the outstation schedule, go for it.

Whats the current situation at Ameriflight? Are they still hiring? I have about 1350 TT and around 400 hours of Metro SIC. Will they hire me straight into the metro, or at least will my previous metro experience make it easier to get the metro once I get hired?

I dont think we are hiring into any metro positions, we are over staffed as it is and are trying to fill open positions in the company with current pilots on the roster, to avoid the f word. It wouldnt hurt to apply online and see what happens. Ive heard that we are running one more cheiftan class and that might be it for a while. good luck

ameriflight is always looking to pick up business. You also have to consider is it going to be profitable for the company it doesnt make sense to fly planes and not make money in the financial times were in. might as well let the planes sit on the ground then loose money flying them. Now on the optimistic side UPS is getting all the DHL operations starting sept.1, we can only hope that UPS is going to require more airlift and that is where we can add business.
